FSA Collaborates with Industry Directions to Conduct Study on Building a Better Supply Chain

Research to Measure Impact of Operating in an Outsourced Environment

SAN JOSE, Calif.--FSA, the voice of the global fabless business model, today announces its collaboration with industry analyst firm Industry Directions, Inc. to conduct a study on how outsourcing and contracting has affected process management in the semiconductor supply chain.

To measure the impact of operating in an outsourced environment, the organizations are aggregating feedback from fabless companies, integrated device manufacturers (IDMs), wafer foundries and back-end suppliers to produce a report on Building a Better Supply Chain.

The goal of this study is to determine what objectives drive outsourced operation decisions; priorities for evaluating, on-boarding and managing trading partners and turnkey suppliers; what Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are being used; and how effective current agreements, technology and collaboration structures are for providing multi-tier visibility and control.

The research will be discussed during a panel discussion at the FSA Suppliers Expo & Conference taking place on September 12 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, Calif.

The report will be released at the end of October and will be complimentary to participants. Sponsors include Agile Software Corporation, Microsoft Corp. and SAP Labs, Inc.
