Additional Enhancements Include New SOA Software Modules for Mobile Operations and New DC Capacity Planning to Optimize Labor and Space Management
ATLANTA--Aldata Solution, Inc., a leading provider of software solutions for the retail industry, today announced a series of enhancements to the Aldata G.O.L.D. Core Retail Suite that include the addition of product information management (PIM) capabilities to its Item and Price Management Module that help buyers bring items into their supply chain more quickly as well as local management of items, sites and vendors. An additional upgrade to its new service oriented architecture (SOA) modules include extensions to G.O.L.D. Mobile, Aldata’s in-store mobile operations solution. Aldata also continues to enhance its distribution center capacity planning capabilities.
Aldata’s new PIM Module, a key element of its SOA enhancements, allows buyers to quickly and securely enter and validate supplier data without actually importing that data into the G.O.L.D. database. For example, an Asian buyer for a U.S. retailer can structure items and contracts for items at the point of the manufacturer before actually bringing those items into the supply chain. Overall, PIM enables retailers to reduce contract timeframes and increase data integrity.
According to AMR Research Analysts Janet Suleski and Mike Griswold in the November 17, 2006 AMR Alert Article, “Its modular suite of applications, Aldata G.O.L.D, provides a broad set of capabilities that encompass store operations, merchandising, and supply chain. The suite has an open and standards-based architecture, with XML-based interfaces, J2EE compliance, published APIs, and a movement under way to a service-oriented architecture (SOA).”
Aldata’s SOA features further extend the capabilities of G.O.L.D. Mobile, enabling store ordering, inventory management, out of stock management and retail price management to be executed via a handheld device. This module extends G.O.L.D.’s inherent ability to reference headquarter's centralized data directly in real time to store mobile end users. Aldata also is adding functionality to its WMS solution set. In addition, Aldata’s Distribution Center Capacity Planning Module includes supervision and planning management that enables retailers to optimize limited labor resources based on actual and expected inventory movements.
Enhancements to the Aldata Core Retail Suite, G.O.L.D. include:
Item & Price Management
- The New PIM Module allows buyers to quickly and securely enter and analyze supplier data.
- Continued Enhancement of Local Management of Items, Sites and Vendors functionality enables local management of critical data elements while maintaining centralized control of the business.
WMS
- New Distribution Center Capacity Planning Module enables retailers to optimize limited labor resources based on actual and expected inventory movements.
Integrated Demand & Replenishment
- New Promotion Management Module for accurate forecasting of promotional demand, with enhanced data cleansing. Allows for better allocation of forecasted quantities based on actual store need.
Store Execution
- Advanced Mobile Functionality enables store ordering, inventory management, out of stock management, and retail price management to be executed via a handheld device and real time access to data from store end users. The flexible interface architecture of G.O.L.D. Mobile allows for easy integration to most label printers enabling users to print new price tags on the spot.
“Our customers were seeking more advanced product information management capabilities so we have delivered the industry’s first solution that allows retailers to manage item and price while still at the manufacturer,” said Neil Thall, CEO of Aldata. “The advanced PIM Module to our Core Retail Suite helps companies more quickly negotiate contracts with manufacturers as well as deliver higher profit margins in cut throat retail markets.”
