Transplace Selected by Cummins Power Generation and Cummins Emission Solutions as Lead Logistics Provider
Global Power Leader and Transplace Commence Logistics Relationship Focused on North American Transportation Network
PLANO, Texas--Transplace, a leading provider of transportation management services (TMS) and logistics technology, today announced it has been selected by Cummins Inc., a corporation of complementary business units that design, manufacture, distribute and service engines and related technologies, as its lead logistics provider for the Power Generation and Emission Solutions Business Units.
Transplace, through a unique applied combination of technology, optimized processes and human capital, will assume the daily transportation management of Cummins Power Generation and Cummins Emission Solutions respective supply chains – from raw materials/sub-assembly suppliers through distribution and to customer final delivery. Transplace’s on demand TMS will be employed for shipment planning, optimization, execution, tracking and visibility, and the establishment of a set of logistics management best practices to monitor and measure the performance of Transplace’s transportation network as well as specific supplier compliance metrics associated with Cummins’ raw material suppliers.
