DALLAS--Broadlane announced today that Dameron Hospital has engaged Broadlane’s Clinical Consulting Services to help control their orthopedic spend for total joints, spine and allograft bone. Under the agreement, Broadlane’s clinical consultants will work with the healthcare professionals at Dameron Hospital to implement Broadlane’s Orthopedic Management Program. Relationship specifics and financial terms were not disclosed.
Broadlane’s Orthopedic Management Program has been successfully implemented at numerous Broadlane clients since Broadlane’s inception. The savings from multiple clients that recently engaged Broadlane for similar services has resulted in double-digit percentage reductions in cost as compared to their current cost structure.
Unlike most GPOs, Broadlane does not have national orthopedic total joint and implant agreements as this business is driven primarily at the local level. Managing costs in this area requires great expertise in working with clinicians. In addition, superior contracting expertise is necessary to ensure that the value of the clinical process is realized. Simply providing “benchmark” pricing that will have to be enhanced on the local level does not go far enough in meeting Broadlane’s client’s needs.
