Acushnet Expands Use of Lawson M3 Applications

Worlds leading golf supplier licenses additional Lawson M3 modules and expands number of users within the company

ST. PAUL, Minn.--Lawson Software (Nasdaq:LWSN) today announced that the Acushnet Company is broadening its use of Lawson M3 applications as it replaces disparate systems to gain greater operational efficiencies. The new contract was signed in Lawson's first quarter of fiscal 2007, which ended Aug. 31, 2006.

Acushnet, the worlds largest supplier of golf equipment, manufactures and distributes leading golf brands Titleist, FootJoy, Cobra, Pinnacle and Scotty Cameron. Its products include golf balls, clubs, shoes, gloves and accessories. As an existing customer of Lawson (as the former Intentia International AB), Acushnet had previously deployed a number of Lawson M3 applications, including Customer Order Management, Procurement, Resource Planning, and Warehouse and Distribution Management. Under the new contract, Acushnet is adding additional user licenses for its existing suite of M3 applications. It is also licensing additional modules, including eSales, Advanced Production Planner, Supply Chain Planner and the Multi-Site Planner.

The Lawson M3 applications that we have deployed have delivered the value and flexibility that we need with operations in countries around the world, said Peg Nicholson, senior vice president and chief information officer for Acushnet. Lawson has a strong offering for manufacturing and distribution with its M3 solutions, and Lawson was able to support our needs surrounding the use of a centralized platform.

Acushnet has operations in 20 countries, which means it faces extremely complex supply chain, manufacturing and distribution challenges, said Peter Quinn, regional marketing director for Lawson M3. The company is now pushing much deeper into the manufacturing functionality of our M3 applications in a manner that will help Acushnet improve its operational efficiencies from customer orders through manufacturing and distribution. At the same time, they are linking their sales and finance functions to the rest of their enterprise systems.

Acushnet runs its core technologies on an IBM System i platform, supporting business processes including sales, customer service, purchasing, product lifecycle management, manufacturing, forecasting and planning, distribution, product configuration, finance and accounting.
