DALLAS--Aug. 7, 2006--i2 Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:ITWO) today announced that it has been positioned in the Leaders Quadrant in Gartner's "Magic Quadrant for Transportation Management Systems (TMS), 2006" report, authored by Jeff Woods and published July 18, 2006. The report evaluated over 12 TMS vendors.
"We believe that our position in the Leaders Quadrant in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for transportation management systems confirms our ability to help customers solve complex transportation problems on a global basis," said Razat Gaurav, i2 vice president, Global Transportation and Distribution Management. "With the launch of our new-generation transportation management solution, we are now able to provide unparalleled flexibility and extensibility in terms of user-interfaces, workflows and data models while leveraging the most robust and scalable optimization capability in the industry. Our goal is to continue providing innovative transportation solutions and helping companies achieve global logistics efficiencies across strategic, tactical and operational time-horizons."
Gartner's TMS Magic Quadrant evaluated vendor offerings based on two major criteria: Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision. "Leaders in the TMS market have deep and robust functionality to meet a broad range of user requirements. These vendors can support sophisticated and complex transportation strategies for large customers with substantial freight spending. The vendors can also meet the needs of users throughout the transportation process with offerings from strategic planning and procurement through freight payment and audit functionality. Leaders also have a compelling strategy for addressing the ongoing market changes related to the emergence of BPPs, the integration of dedicated fleet assets, and the convergence of WMS and TMS functionality," states the Gartner report.
