Capgemini Survey Reveals Verticalnet XE Delivers Deep Procurement Value
MALVERN, Pa.--Verticalnet, Inc. (Nasdaq:VERT), a leading provider of on demand supply management solutions, today announced that the Verticalnet XE Supply Management suite was awarded the highest average score in a recent survey conducted by Capgemini entitled Supplier Relationship Management Solutions: Expected Value. The survey closely reviewed the latest features and functionalities requested by senior management to optimize their procurement strategy. Out of the 22 vendors studied, the Verticalnet XE suite was recognized as providing the highest percentage of SRM functionality sought by procurement professionals.
The survey analysis results were based on an extensive list of 488 questions across 7 supply management subcategories, representing the most asked-for and the most critical functionalities sought by Capgemini clients. The average score across all vendors was approximately 60%. In addition to the highest overall score of 94%, Verticalnet also scored over 90% in 6 out of the 7 categories analyzed by Capgemini. Categories included Project Management, Sourcing, Contract Management, Supplier Management, Catalogue Management, Operational Management, and Procurement Intelligence.

In addition to rating the vendors based on the breadth of their SRM suites, Capgemini also asked their client’s procurement executives to rate their most important business priorities. According to the report, “Across all sectors, the most significant business driver for 2007 is effectively leveraging preferred supplier contracts. For CPOs, this means compliance to existing contracts plus improved visibility on spend information.” Other areas of importance included performance measurement and supplier development.
