PacificHealth Laboratories Announces Appointment of Former Atkins Nutritionals Executive as New Vice President of Product Development & Supply Chain

MATAWAN, N.J.--PacificHealth Laboratories, Inc. (OTCBB: PHLI), a nutrition technology company, today announced the appointment of Matthew Spolar, age 34, as the Company’s Vice President of Product Development & Supply Chain, effective January 3, 2008.

Prior to joining PacificHealth Laboratories, Mr. Spolar served as Vice President of Product Technology at Atkins Nutritionals, Inc. where he was the architect of a highly successful new product development program that helped the company increase its revenues from $40 million to over $650 million in less than four years. More recently, Mr. Spolar was integrally involved with the strategic restructuring at Atkins Nutritionals, Inc. that culminated with a successful acquisition of its controlling interest by North Castle Partners, LLC in Sept. 2007. In addition to his work at Atkins, Matt has served on the Board of Directors of OXIS International, Inc., a publicly traded biotechnology company focused on unique proprietary assays that help diagnose diseases associated with oxidative stress. Mr. Spolar received his Bachelors of Science and Master of Sciences degrees in Food Science from Pennsylvania State University.
